Description
This sculpture represents a Luba cup bearer.

The torso alone is carved. It wears the traditional Luba scarifications that are also located on its cheeks and forehead. The woman represented also wears jewels. It means that the woman  represented had some great importance in the tribe.

The sculpture distinguishes itself by the attention that is brought to details. Two animals are represented on the base of the object. The refined treatment of the hair and the details of the sculpture is enhanced by the beautiful black patina.
